Loan Officer Training - Concepts Are Great, But Mortgage Experience Is The Best Teacher
Diletakkan dalam Low Interest Mortgage Loans | 15 May, 2008 | Ditulis oleh admin
Ever heard the phrase "experience is the best teacher, as long as it's someone else's experience?" If you're a Loan Officer who honestly believes that statement, you are in good shape to get your Mortgage Business to great heights.
BUT, there is one little tweak you need to have in your thought process first. Someone else's experience is a great teacher, but you'll never be able to fully understand concepts and techniques until you do it yourself. You can get Loan Officer Training from just about any Loan Officer, but what good is that training if you never apply it. Someone can tell you to make phone calls, but until you do it yourself, you cannot get the whole feel of it. If you claim to have pages and pages of training notes, that's awesome, but are you using them and creating other notes from your experience?
What I'm saying is you need to have the experience in order to gain the experience. That may be a "duh!" statement for a lot of Loan Officers, but stop and really think about it. Have you ever told someone how to do something and they didn't understand. But after they attempted it, it was crystal clear in their mind? That's what I'm talking about as well.
Loan Officers who seek out knowledge from others in the Mortgage Business are on the right track, they realize they don't have to reinvent the wheel. BUT, the Loan Officers that actually APPLY these concepts and techniques will then have something others LO's don't have, that's experience!
They are using the teaching from someone else's experience to guide them, but then they are applying their own experience for their own personal teachings.
