Finding Love and Affinity in The Throes of A Change

When potential clients call me to inquire about coaching for their various life changes, I find myself asking them to tell me where they are right then. This helps me get a good sensing of how connected they are with their inner self and emotions.

A few who are able to say precisely where they are emotionally tell me they are ready to move on but feel stuck. Others are not sure that they are able to let go at all. While again some people simply don’t know what they’re feeling.

This is okay and in fact one of the most challenging things in times of a change is being able to determine your emotional parameter.

Irrelevant of the changes people experience, there’s a common factor. This is the amount of self criticism people heap on themselves. It’s almost as if people want to make themselves pay for their own pain and anguish.

But since flogging yourself or blaming others won’t benefit you except to keep you stuck, you need to do something different.

To shift your focus and stir away from casting blame, here is what you can do. Apply the most valuable tool you possess, the gift of love. Love is a natural balm capable of not only banishing pain and fear, but also injecting you and your life with new vigour. Love, when applied consciously can also imbue you with a new sense of purpose and direction.

When you find yourself going through a difficult change, simply Imagine to yourself how love springs out of you and takes charge of the situation. Ask yourself these questions and observe what happens.

1. What would love say here?

2. What would love do here?

3. How would love behave here?

4. What is the most loving attitude I can have for myself and others in this situation?

Here is what happened to an angry client whom I encouraged to apply these questions to her situation.

She said at first it was difficult for her to imagine the love emerging from her because she was extremely upset. But as she kept on asking the questions, she became calmer and was able to let the love within take over.

While moving from one question to the other, she realised that she had also contributed her own share to exacerbate the situation. Her “loving part” showed her what she could now do to make her feel better. She informed me that she never thought she would ever feel any compassion for the colleague who in her own words “stabbed her in the back.” And yet she did.

By the time she came to asking herself the last question about the most loving attitude she could have for herself, she had already gained deep clarity. She knew what she had to do and was prepared to do it.

One most challenging aspect of life changes is dealing with emotions of anger or betrayal. This can be very traumatic. But if you are prepared to take a step back and work with the gift of love, you might just discover the right tool to help release your traumatised emotion. This can also help you recognize your true affinity, which lies in the power to choose.

Love Yourself First
As we approach Valentines Day, the traditional day of love, I cannot stop thinking of the importance of self-love. One of my favorite philosophers, Joseph Campbell, said as we love ourselves, we move toward our own bliss. Even though Valentines Day is the day of love, it is often filled with expectation and disappointment whether we are in a relationship or not. My thought is: what would happen if we would broaden the concept of Valentines Day...

Initial Training Clauses in Franchising Agreements

Nearly all franchising companies require initial training to teach the new franchises how to run their franchised outlets. Some of the modern-day franchise companies have extensive training in teach people every single aspect to the business and some of these companies are not very simple and therefore neither is the training.

In our franchising company we had a simple concept, which was easy to train. Each franchise or is required to disclose in the disclosure documents and franchise agreement the amount of training which will be given in required to pass. This allows the franchise buyer a chance to understand what all is involved with the time commitment for the training program. Below is a clause in our franchise agreements, which will help you better understand this concept;

3.6 Training

3.6.1 Initial Training

A forty (40) hour initial training course is provided with the Franchised Business.
Franchisee will be allowed to have up to three people including themselves take this course. This initial training course is required and anyone who will be operating Franchisees initial car wash truck/unit unsupervised is required to complete the training. At least one person is required to take the training course. This initial training course will be held at locations Franchisor designates in the United States and will be run by a US based franchisee.

Since all franchisors must disclose the initial training requirements it makes sense to have improperly worded in the franchising agreements and thus all franchising companies should consult with legal counsel and a knowledgeable franchising attorney to protect them legally from lawsuits stemming from ambiguity. Are Prenuptial Agreements Affected by Changed Circumstances?
People who go through the bother and expense of entering into prenuptial agreements, sign the agreement with the expectation that the agreement will be enforceable and will give them the future protection that they seek. Unfortunately, prenuptial agreements are routinely attacked at the time when party o...

Condoms for Your PC

Well, maybe you won’t really put a condom on your PC, but what you do need is good protection. Today, that means a firewall, an anti-virus product, and an anti-spyware product. You need to have them in place and you need to keep them up-to-date. For anti-virus and anti-spyware products, keeping them both up-to-date is nearly as important as frequent scanning with them.
Since we don’t know what new viruses and spyware are lurking until they are created, the companies with anti-virus and anti-spyware products are always behind those who create malware.
Only when a new malware item appears, can we get updates to prevent it from getting on our PCs or to remove it once it is there.

What else can we do to have a safe PC? There is a lot we can do. Let’s examine some categories:

ACCOUNTS - Use an account that does NOT have administrative privileges. That way, if someone breaks into your PC, there is some damage control. Also, avoid the use of the account names which are created by default. Those are “administrator” and “guest.” Consider one account with administrative privileges for when you need to have those privileges, but use another account that does not have administrative privileges for your normal work.

PASSWORDS - Use passwords that give you protection. Try to make them 6-8 characters in length with a combination of letters (upper and lower case) and numbers. Avoid names of family, friends, and pets. Consider a trick like the first letter of each word of a sentence. It will NOT spell a word. For example, the first letter of each word of this sentence, “Read this first article on save PC,” would result in the password of “RtfaosP.” It is not a word, it is a reasonable length, difficult to guess, but easy to remember.

DISK CLEANUP - While not a virus or spyware prevention tool, this MS Windows utility can reclaim available disk space from the recycle bin, temporary files, and deleted files. With regular use, this utility can keep more disk space available.

DISK DEFRAGMENTATION - This MS Windows utility can reorganize disk space to put related files together for faster access. As files are written to disk space, they may not fit one-after-the-other. When that happens, the files are “fragmented.” The defragmentation process moves files in an effort to put related files next to each other. That means that more data that you want for a particular file can be read at once - translating into better performance. The first time that this utility is run, the disk space probably will be badly fragmented and the process will take a long time. When the disk space is kept in better order, the process will take little time.

MICROSOFT CRITICAL PATCHES -To keep up-to-date with the “critical patches” for an operating system from Microsoft is not so simple as it would seem. Microsoft offers two choices: 1) use an automated update that will send the “critical patches” when they are released, or 2) do a The larger issue, however, is that you give up control of what patches will be installed. Whatever is released for your system will be installed. That may create problems because some “critical patches” may cause parts of your system to not work correctly. It becomes a difficult decision: keep PCs up-to-date with all available “critical patches” and risk a situation where PCs may fail to function, or do NOT install “critical patches” immediately and risk a situation where worms/viruses infect not only some PCs but have the potential for spreading the problems. If you choose to do a manual update, how can you be assured that all PCs are updated on a timely basis? The choice seems to be in favor of the automated update from Microsoft.

ANTI-VIRUS UPDATE AND SCAN - All of us who use PCs these days are aware of the need for anti-virus software. Most PCs are sold with a choice of anti-virus software already installed. What is not so apparent to users of PCs, however, is the need for repeated updates of the anti-virus software. Whether the updates are “free” or via a paid subscription, they are critical to the proper function of the anti-virus software. If you run an anti-virus scan, it is only as good as the last update that was made to it before you initiated the scan. Anti-virus software, generally, is behind the 8-ball on worms & viruses. Until a new worm or virus is released, it is difficult to know how to defend against it. So, if you last updated your anti-virus software on January 1st, a new virus was released on January 5th, and you are running a scan on January 10th, your anti-virus software will not be prepared to trap the new virus, which was created after your latest anti-virus update. Good maintenance management should run frequent (daily is recommended) anti-virus scan, which are always preceded by a search for possible updates.

ANTI-SPYWARE UPDATE AND SCAN - Even newer to a safe PC is anti-spyware software. Most PCs are now sold with anti-spyware software. As with anti-virus software, whether the updates are “free” or via a paid subscription, they are critical to the proper function of the anti-spyware software. Good maintenance management should run frequent (daily is recommended) anti-spyware scans, which are always preceded by a search for possible updates.

GOOD MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT HOW TO’s - Microsoft “Critical Patches” can be set to run at a given time each day. Anti-virus software can be scheduled for updates and scans. It may also have a “live” update option. Anti-spyware can be scheduled for updates and scans. You can set the PC to prompt each month for a new password. You may wish to create a script that runs the individual utilities and that, itself, is scheduled to run at a given time each day.

NEXT STEPS - When you operate a PC, you need to believe that you can it as a tool without spending your own time to do maintenance. You need maintenance management that can handle that for you. As a support function, IT professionals need to explain what you should expect, what they are doing to pro-actively avoid problems, and what you should do when a problem occurs despite everyone’s efforts. IT professionals should try to minimize the impact of their approaches on you. You have at your disposal a number of products to supplement the Microsoft operating system and tools. There are disk defragmenters, anti-virus, anti-spyware, firewall, and scheduling products. You can write scripts to be run by the system scheduler.

How do you solve these problems? What products do you use and recommend? What would make your life easier?

Incorporate as much PC maintenance and control as possible without hindering your PC operations. That is “Intelligent Maintenance Management” for a safe PC

Healing From Divorce

The healing process is different for each person but generally includes the five steps listed below:

1. First is denial. This is really not happening to me. You may wish to think everything will be fine nothing has changed. Accepting that the marriage is really over may feel devastating.

2. Dealing with the emotional pain. Not just denying it. You may feel like you are on an emotional roller coaster. Feelings may include sadness, anger, fear, loneliness plus dozens of other feelings. You may feel like your heart is breaking. It may even be hard to get to work or to take care of daily tasks. Unfortunately this is usually also the time that all the legal work and finances and child custody issues need to be taken care of.

3. Discovering who you are all over again. As a single person you are not the same person you were when you entered this relationship. What do you like to do now? What do you like about yourself? You may even need to rediscover simple things like what type of food you really like to eat or rediscovering hobbies or trying new activities. What do you like to do now?

4. Understanding your part in why the marriage did not work. At this time, this may not seem necessary or possible to you. This is not about blaming yourself or your spouse but about learning and growing as a person and improving your chances for a better relationship. You may wish to restore relationships with your family and children if necessary. To make peace with the past and forgive yourself and others. Forgiving does not mean forgetting or allowing yourself to get hurt all over again. Forgiving is for YOUR benefit.

5. Moving on!!! Finally after you have dealt with the past and the pain and understood your part in what happened and know who you are and what you want to do in life and youve actually started to feel good about yourself (Yes, this can actually happen!) Its time to move on. Its time to put the past behind you and move forward to look ahead to the life that awaits you.

Many people would like to move straight from step 1 denial to step 5 putting the past behind. Failure to complete the healing process could be why the divorce rate for second marriages is estimated at 60% or higher than the divorce rate for first marriages.

As a therapist I run many of the divorce recovery programs at SLS. I also work with many individuals who are in the process of healing from a divorce. We heal best with the support of others. The healthier you are and the more you know about yourself the more likely your next relationship is to succeed or you may find that do not wish to be in a relationship and that is ok also! Being divorced does not have to ruin the rest of your life. If necessary seek help and be willing to do the work of healing. What you do with the rest of your life is up to you.

Small, Low Traffic Can Be Highly Profitable

There are many offline bricks and mortar businesses that thrive with just a handful of clients. There is even the sort of business that will achieve record sales and success by landing only one or two clients in an entire year. Take as an example a successful entrepreneur who carries out specific highly specialized training programs in large Fortune 500 companies.

To land a single client or two, this particular entrepreneur will need to target a handful of companies at the most. In the particular case I am familiar with, contact will be made with about 5 carefully chosen companies to land enough business for the entire year.

The Internet makes it even easier to target specific small, tiny market niches and still thrive. Why is it then that many people do not believe that a low traffic blog or a low traffic site can greatly thrive and prosper? Why is it that many bloggers and webmasters still insist on blindly using tactics and techniques best suited for high traffic sites that require hundreds of thousands of hits to make enough cash to keep going? Surely we do not expect high traffic web site or blog techniques to work equally well with tiny low traffic sites. Actually the behavior of most site owners clearly shows that we do.

Butterfly Marketing - A Promising Solution For Your Traffic Needs

Evidence-Based Management Has Issues

I was raised in a family where spirited discussions were common. Sometimes when we were in the middle of a good debate, my mother would break in with one of her classic lines. “It’s a fact,” she would remind us, “We don’t have to argue about it. We can look it up.”

At that point we’d get up from the dinner table and begin pulling out reference books. We might call the library (you could do that then) or call a family friend who would know the answer to our question. We were on a quest for facts.

That’s the whole idea behind Evidence-Based Management. Get the facts about what works. Forget about management folklore. Forget about management fads. Forget about what you think is true. Get the facts.

I got excited when I first started reading about Evidence-Based Management. It seemed perfect for a time when new “studies” of dubious quality flow across the news wires hourly. I liked the idea of applying the scientific method to business.

This is scientific method in its basic and universal form, not the “physics-envy” form where the only good data is acquired using quantitative methods in carefully controlled situations. That might be good for some science, but it won’t work for any human endeavor like management which involves making decisions on the fly in a complex and changing environment.

In management we have to fall back on the basics. Come up with an idea. Try it out somehow, someplace. Live fire trials are almost always better than thought experiments or survey research. Measure your results. Sometimes you can count them and sometimes you can’t. Then modify your behavior based on what you learn.

Evidence-Based Management can help with that process. Rules like “look for risks and drawbacks in what people recommend” and “Avoid basing decisions on untested but strongly held beliefs, what you have done in the past, or on uncritical ‘benchmarking’ of what winners do” can help us make better choices.

Looking at the data can result in different kinds of action. Take the case of mergers and acquisitions.

Most mergers and acquisitions fail. Some studies put the number as high as 70 percent. You can respond to that in one of three ways.

You can ignore the research and plow ahead. You can choose not to do a merger because of the high likelihood of failure. Or you can do more research, compare winners and losers, listen to the advice of experienced executives, and modify your actions based on what you find.

That’s the option Cisco chose. The company reviewed successful and unsuccessful mergers and acquisitions. Then they developed a protocol that has resulted in 57 successful ones.

Problems start when people don’t use the results of research thoughtfully and effectively. Some adopt the findings uncritically. I call that “Cargo Cult Management.” At one point in my career I had a boss like that.

He read all the articles and about how to succeed and for some reason he zeroed in on dress as the key factor. He missed the chapters on getting great results. One night, after he’d had far too much to drink, he explained to me how his success was due to the fact that he wore a thin watch and patent leather shoes. When he was fired for poor performance, he was genuinely puzzled.

That’s not the only way people routinely misuse the findings of good research and ideas. Sometimes they just cherry-pick the findings they like. Managers who read Frederick Taylor’s shovel study often adopted the parts about shovel design and placement of the coal pile, but ignored the recommendation to give workers regular breaks.

The same thing happened with the work of W. Edwards Deming. Executives were quick to adopt the statistical quality control techniques, but skipped point eight. That’s the one that advised management to “drive out fear.”

One problem with Evidence-Based Management is that you still have to depend on people to implement the principles. But people cling to their assumptions and beliefs. They reject research that challenges those beliefs. Humans seem to have been this way forever. Very few are likely to do the hard work to question or verify what “everybody knows” is true.

That hard work can be formidable. Many Evidence-Based Management articles give the impression that the only evidence that really matters comes from carefully constructed, peer-reviewed studies. That presents several problems.

The first problem is that most managers don’t read many peer-reviewed management journals. Most of us lack the expertise, energy, and time to determine which studies have worthwhile information that we can use to guide decision making.

It doesn’t help that a huge number of academic studies are simply useless in the day-to-day world of management. I just analyzed a peer-reviewed study of employee compensation that spent 45 pages coming to conclusions that were not actionable.

The study was presented in the best academic manner. The authors described their methodology. They laid out their equations and described their data sources. There was a review of the literature.

There were two findings that caught my eye. One was that job tenure is longer in large companies than small companies. There’s not much I can do with that. Imagine: “Note to self grow big to keep employees longer.”

The second finding was that “married individuals are 22 percent more likely to leave their jobs than otherwise identical single workers.” Imagine how you might act on that. “Note to self hire only single workers. Give them incentives to stay single.”

It’s simply not reasonable to expect a manager in today’s fast-moving, competitive business environment to slog through studies like that one to find the good ones. There’s one more problem. It’s the problem of timeliness.

Most of the time, managers simply don’t have the luxury of waiting for the academics to do the research and have their findings reviewed and published. Making decisions based on incomplete and often unverified information is one of the things that makes management an art.

At the end of the day, managers have to pull together information and recommendations as best they can and make their own decisions. The good news is that Evidence-Based Management gives us some effective tools for doing that more effectively. So here’s what to do.

Grab ideas from wherever you can. Pore through journal articles, magazines, books and blogs.

When you spot a promising idea, be skeptical. Use questions from Evidence-Based Management to test assumptions and beliefs and the fitness of the idea for your situation. Don’t stop there. Use other questions. Search for data that opposes the idea.

Try something. Figure out how to run a live trail. The best businesses are always trying and testing.

Measure your results. Analyze them.

Make changes based on what you find. Fortune may favor the brave, but success favors the realistic, active and adaptable.

Here’s the bottom line on Evidence-Based Management. It’s not the one answer that will solve all your problems. But Evidence-Based Management gives you tools that will help you use information more effectively and make better decisions.

Number of RVs on the Road Drops Due to Fuel Costs

Over the past 6 months we have noticed a huge drop in Recreational Vehicles on the road. Why you ask? Well it is quite simple really with gasoline and diesel prices over $3.00 per gallon in the United States. Here in Virginia we talked to one RV sales person who works at an RV lot on one of the major freeways. He told us he use to see one or two RVs per minute and he said now you are lucky if you see one every 10-minutes.

In Springfield, Missouri a Wal-Mart Security guard noted that usually over night there use to be over 10-15 motor homes in the parking lot and then they would leave in the morning, now barely one or two he said. Why? Well he guessed it too, the price of gas I reckon is what he said.

Indeed, it is the price of fuel and it is also showing in the fuel sales for the RV Rewards program at Flying J noted one Flying J manager who came out to pump our propane since they were short of staff that evening in when we were out West in Wyoming two months ago. He noted the many of the super nice motor homes still come in, but there are even fewer of them these days. Consider all this in 2006.

Across the Country in an RV?
Have you considered setting out to see America by way of recreational vehicle? Have you considered how much this will cost you in fuel? Have you considered that more and more people are forgoing their recreational vehicle trips this year due to the $3.00 per gallon costs? With fewer RVs on the road you may find a fairly easy time finding an RV park to go to right? Wrong, as more people are going to an RV park and staying for a month instead of a ...

RV Fuel Problems in Winter
If you are hitting the road during the peak winter months, you can run into fuel issue in an RV. Obviously, this assumes you are in an area that gets cold, not Arizona. You have two choices for fuel with an RV gas and diesel. Gas engines are generally not problematic in the winter. Gas stays more or less at the liquidity levels as one would find during the summer. Okay, perhaps a bit thicker, but no so much as to effect your engine. Diesel, on th...

Aromatherapy Promotes New Hair Growth
Contemporary therapists will assure you that the oil of rosemary is more immediately absorbed into the scalp and is preferred to the Caesar salad approach above, which probably feels pretty strange when the leaves begin to cool down . . .Jojoba oil also has a long-lived reputation as a hair growth stimulant. While the other leaves and herbs in this solution may not have a record, in any age, from any civilization, of causing new hair growth, the...

Protect Yourself from Internet Scam Operations Using This Tool

WHOIS Domain Name Search:

Have you ever tried looking for a domain name with the use of the WHOIS domain name search? If yes, then great for you! But for those who have not heard about the WHOIS domain name search, then you should read on for you to discover the wonder of this particular thing.

On the Internet, every domain registrar maintains a WHOIS database containing all contact information for the domains they ‘host’. This WHOIS database contains information about a domain name including name server, registrar and full contact information. Internet Network Information Center (InterNIC, http://www.internic.com) maintains a central registry WHOIS database that contains only the registrar and name server information for all .com, .net and .org domains

So, when we perform a WHOIS domain name search, we are using a WHOIS tool to look up contact information for a domain name from one of these WHOIS databases on the Internet. The WHOIS database will return the registration information that is intended for domain names. The name and the contact details for the domain name holder and the domain name administrator will be presented. It is important to know that the contact information for domain names under the hands of the WHOIS domain name database may vary depending on the registrar.

WHOIS Tool:

You can use the following tools to run a WHOIS domain name search:

The Use of WHOIS Domain Name Search:

1. Check Your Own Domain Name: Many experts said that it is necessary when you do a WHOIS domain name search on your own domain name, you should verify that your contact details are accurate. If you encounter errors in the domain name details, you could fix errors on your domain names by contacting your web hosting company.

2. Website Background Check: You can find out how long a website has been around, who owns it, and where that company or individual is actually located by doing a WHOIS domain name search. You will be able to spot a scam operation by comparing the information you find from the search with the information that is shown on the website. For example, if a website claims that it has been in operation for many years but your findings show that the domain name they use has just been created a week ago, you may not want to trust this website.

In some cases, you may not get any information from WHOIS domain name search if the domain name is protected by domain name protection service.

Domain Name Protection:

Some web hosting companies provide domain name protection service that will help a website owner to protect his or her privacy. Domain name protection service protects website owner’s identity from domain-related spams. With this service, only the domain name protection service contact information will be shown in the WHOIS domain name search. Website owner’s contact information is kept completely private. The website owner still owns the domain name. He or she can cancel, sell, renew or transfer the domain.

Winning Ideas

There is nothing more powerful and no force more portent than an idea. Everything on earth revolves around an idea or a concatenation of ideas. Every invention started as an idea. Every business was once an idea in the mind of its originator. Everything that can be seen, felt, touched, tasted and smelt can also be traced to some idea somewhere. The world order and its systems are all products of ideas.

Ideas are the bedrock upon which success is built. The worst form of poverty is therefore a poverty of ideas and a bankruptcy of imagination. Hopelessness is a state of idealess-ness, while optimism has its foundation in the anticipated success of an idea. As a rule man is confounded, desperate and depressed only on the day that he has no idea to lift him out of his predicament. More often than not in the battle of life, winning and losing hinge upon an idea. The solution to every challenge and all problems is embedded in an idea. There are certain facts about ideas that should always be remembered. These are enunciated below.

The One With An Idea Will Always Achieve More.

In all matters of human effort, the person with an idea always goes farther than the one without. Similarly, the one with a plan is likely to achieve more than the one who relies on sporadic ad hoc actions. Most battles are won in the boardroom, and most great feats are pulled off on the nest where ideas are nurtured. Winners are cognizant of this. They never begin a day, a week, a month or a year without a clear idea of what they seek to achieve and how they propose to go about it. They have an idea of what they are chasing, and also ideas about how to prosecute the chase. This is the essence of what in military terminology is alluded to as strategy. Napoleons success has been attributed to the amount of time that he invested in generating ideas and plans about his campaigns. It is known, for example, that he had it all literally mapped out and figured out on paper well before he matured into an all conquering general.

Ideas Are Precursors Of Action

Winners do not only generate good ideas, but they follow this up with massive actions aligned to the ideas. There is no shortage of ideas in the world, but there is a shortage of relevant action. Researchers have come to the conclusion that an average person experiences no less than 2000 flashes of ideas in a day. Situations are not transformed by ideas alone. The world bows to ideas that are executed well. Every idea should be turned into a plan of action, and every plan should give birth to massive action. The golden rule in this regard is that if there is nothing to lose and something to gain by trying out an idea, by all means try. The tragedy is that most people are busy bodies, rocking up and down like toy dolls on toy horses. Success demands that actions be targeted towards executing ideas. Power, leadership, honor and success follow the one with the best ideas. However, the ultimate winner is the one who masters the craft of turning ideas into reality through action.

Ideas Follow The Inquisitive

From the foundation of the world, the principle of gravity had always existed. However, it was not until one day when a man studying under an apple tree had the misfortune of being struck by a falling apple that the principle was discovered. The man questioned himself why the apple had fallen down and not gone up to the sky. His investigation led to the codification of the principles of gravity. The principle already existed but there was no inquisitive mind to bring it to the surface. This is true about our fortunes, successes and progress. The universe is ready to make each one of us a winner. The ideas to take us there are already in existence, but they need an inquisitive spirit to surface them. Ideas and money always flow in abundance to the person who asks the relevant question. The scripture, Ask and it shall be given to you, is so true as to pervade very area of life. Most people know MacDonalds for the famous hamburger; however the greatest legacy that the MacDonalds people gave the world is the importance of asking. Many people go to their take-aways with the intention of just buying a hamburger and a drink but the cashiers have been trained to ask one simple question which is a variant of, Shall I give you fries with your drink and hamburger? Of course, many people unconsciously answer yes. It has been estimated that yearly more than twenty million dollars are added to the coffers by this question alone.

Winners Nurture Their Ideas

Great achievers like Einstein were renowned for their disciplined approach towards nurturing their ideas. Einstein had a thinking chair to which he regularly resorted which allowed him to concentrate and concretize his ideas undisturbed. They also record their ideas on paper. Writing things down is an Idea Loss Reduction Mechanism. Winners deliberately set aside idea generation and thinking time.

Many people who think a lot come up with brilliant ideas and concepts. Sometimes these concepts are nice schemes for a Utopia, which does not exist and perhaps cannot exist until someone gets busy and makes it happen. Often ideas are shot down using this exact argument; that they cannot exist because the World is already the way it is. Other ideas are shot down for fundamental reasons such as who will sign onto the idea? Who will sell it and mark...
